So, I’ve been making a point lately to get AWAY from my computer. I found that I have let the online world take a little to much of my time.
I did something strange the other day. I went to the beach and did absolutely nothing. We just hung out. Chilled. No pressure to do anything or try and make fun happen. Just relaxing and enjoying being with each other.
Now at the same time, I don’t want to completely abandon this digital life style I have created. Im trying to find a healthy balance.
Any thoughts? Tips? Are you going through the same thing? Let me know what you think below.
OH, and I need to clarify something here: Jordan is a great guy. The bottle was in the way (and you cant see his mouth) but he was actually laughing and playing along. No need to worry about my personal safty.
So, if you follow me on twitter or we are friends on facebook, you probibly know by now that I am moving.
Well, moving kinda forces you to go through all your junk. You would be surprised how much stuff you can find that you have forgotten about. Here Is a list of interesting things I have found so far.
Found this cowboy hat. No idea why i have it... how i got it... or why i still have it. It doesn't even fit!
This bag was given to me by a friend. I was going to do this collection of videos with "bag man" but then Smosh went and did their "box man" video. The idea quickly died.
This ballon is over two years old... and it still has air in it!
I lost these keys circa... a very long time ago.
My old retainer... Yeah, it no longer fits.
OH EM GE! I found my tamagotchi!
I just found 70,000 ugandan shillings! Im rich!!! Rich I tell ya!!
First let me give credit where credit is due: I first saw this video on the Youtube Reviewed blog. They always seem to be able to find some of the best (and worst) videos on the web. Of corse, they also have plenty of social commentary on my biggest obsession… youtube (and its community). Swing by and check them out.
Moving on.
So, many people have asked me “What’s this twitter thing”. Well, allow this video to explain. Then read my notes following.
I now realize how sad my life is.
Twittering can become an addiction. What is it that compels some of us to share so much of our lives on sites like twitter, facebook, dailybooth, youtube, and yes… even myspace. ::shudder:: I wont even try to mention linked-in, bebo, pownce and all the other dark allies of the socialsphere.
Some of you reading this identify with me. You, like me, are an “Internet Socialite.” However, others of you are thinking:
“Oh man, thats so weird. He shares so much private information with the world!”
Or maybe your thinking something like,
“How incredibly vain! Who really wants to know all this stuff?!”
Well, before you get to critical, let me propose a thought: Perhaps you don’t directly suffer from a twitter addiction, but suffer from O.S.M.O.S.I.S. (Overly Stimulated Mind from Online Social and Informational Sites).
ADMIT IT! You crave information! You might not be the one pumping it out, but you scarf down every tid-bit of info that is thrown at you! You may not
twitter ever footstep
post a video on youtube of every major and minor event in your life
tag everyone you know on facebook
stream your entire music listening history on last.fm
let the world know what you are eating on foodfeed.us
But! You DO
Surf facebook at work
Watch videos when you should be doing laundry
Check your friends facebook status on your phone
Read details about your friends lives looking for references to yourself.
So you see, we are all sick. We all need to just go outside. Then come home and blog about our experiences (or read about the experiences of others).
I finally finished & Uploaded my application video for IslandReefJob.com
The video was accepted
The video is now live on youtube and live on the site
I am now going crazy waiting for the top 50 to be announced.
Now all I can do is wait. And wait… And wait some more. Browsing the website there is quite a collection of AMAZING application videos. Several other youtubers (some with rather large audiences) have come out of the wood works in the last few days. Over 34,000 people applied. That list will be reduced to 50 on Monday! Thats quite the cut!!!
So, yeah. Im kinda anxious.
Honestly, If I don’t make the top 50 I’ll be fine. I just want to know one way or the other. Not knowing has kept me in a bit of a standstill. I do not want to start a big media blitz campaign until I know I am in the top fifty. Also, there are a few videos that I would like to do, but only if I don’t make the top 50.
Im stuck for now. Just need to wait.
In the mean time, check out my application video. Its good. I mean… I like it.
If you read this blog… you more then likely know about my little youtube habit (AKA Karpadiem). But you may not know that I am part of ANOTHER channel called Garmrozeo.
Garmrozeo is a collaborative effort with my roommate Mark (AKA Boontok). Its basically a collection of videos that highlight the random things that happen around our house and the rather unique relationship we have.
Well, its been 7 months since we posted any videos. Yesterday changed that.
Below is our latest video. Its a true story… mostly.

As you may or may not know, I got a hair cut last week. Well, several hairs cut to be honest. Whenever I get a new dew, there is always a learning period where I try to find exactly the BEST way to wear it.
So, here are a few of my ideas.
Tell me what you think in the comments below?
